Hi everyone…
Surely you noticed the absence of new posting! Now it’s the time to write about a special piece of software, which is quite interesting and fun (of course thats IMHO). Today I will talk about the democracy player.
The democracy player is available for the major platforms (Windows, Linux, MacOS). The software is all about sharing content over the internet. NO it’s not a new shiny emule/azureus/kazaa/.. application. It is about videopodcasting. At the end of the day you could say it’s just a tool to manager your RSS feeds for the v-casts.
But it does this quite nice in such a way that it’s like an TV. You subscribe some channels and democracy player downloads new episodes automagically and tells you in a convenient way. For me (who has no TV) it’s a good way to get information and entertainment produced by independent people.
So, try the program. It’s free like in beer and what’s MOST important.. it’s free like in free speech (which means it’s free software and everyone can get the code and is allowed to modify it).
Mabye it’s interesting for some of you which concrete feeds I’m listening on a daily basis. I will describe these feeds in coming postings..
Have a nice day
